My washed Panties

I bought a small washing machine. Perhaps you have seen them advertised. You have to fill it and empty it yourself. There is no spin dry so you have to squeeze the water out of the panties. PLEASE DO NOT wring your panties out as this helps to destroy them.  We don't want to ruin our panties before their time. I washed a dozen. Wearing a rather large size pantie, I can only make room for twelve pair on my drying rack. I love to look at my panties on the drying rack knowing that they will be available to me tomorrow. I have mostly cotton on the rack as it is near summer and the weather can be hot at times. I just love to see my panties drying. I know that my big ass will be enclosed in those panties soon. w00t.gif

I'm unsure if we want to shift this Thread/Topic into Laundering Techniques, but, here's my techniques, ideas, and observations.

Nowadays, I tend to wash everything before I wear it. That's because of Factory Sizing (Fabric Treatment{s}). Fabrics/Garments are treated, during manufacture and assembly, to make them assemble better; travel from factory to store better; and, to last longer for store storage and display. The fabric is arguably more stiff, crisp, and scratchy, in that state. The initial washing usually removes most of it, making your undies infinitely more soft, supple, and drapey. It can even bring out more sheen, too.

This could bother some of you, but, I almost always wash hot, and machine dry long and hot, as well. I actually find that's okay, as long as I do not mix my pretties with my street clothes. Also, there's no burrs, hot spots, nor rough surfaces in either my washing machine, nor dryer, so, they're safe to go.

Elastics as well as most of my pretties' fabrics can stand it, unless, with vintage, the elastics have already been sun-damaged (Ultraviolet and Infrared). Then, if I'm bound and determined, I'll simply replace, or sew new elastic over what's already there. If they're beyond salvage, I at least try and use 'em as "cutters"/useable scrap--beyond any hope at all, they go into the trash.

I'm crazy about the tactile effects of static electricity in my pretties, and that's why I use the hot regimen, in my laundering. Repeated hot washes can also eventually break down many of the anti-stat treatments/properties of some garments, as well. Static electricity really makes choice Tricots take on a life, "intelligence", and, interactivity, that zings my pleasure-seeking nerve ends.

With Wool, Silk, and blends with those two fabrics in them, by contrast, I will be careful to wash lukewarm-to-cold, using Woolite, as obviously, those fabrics are much more fragile, shrinky, and frail than are Nylon/Polyester/Acetate/Rayon Tricots, Cottons, and, Cot/Poly Blends.

Now, when shopping on eBay, I'm vigilant, to carefully and closely examine Item pix and descripts, for excess sun/storage damage to elastics, because it means extra effort in rehabilitating the stuff, for play. That stuff at one time, was undoubtedly fresh and never, ever, worn, but after 30, 40, as much as 70 years storage, elastic is the first thing to decay and crumble. The next thing to go, are seams/binding thread.

A long while ago, I was even gypped on an eBay Item that I'd bought, where the fabric (usually the last thing to decay) itself, crumbled to dust! I guess the Merchant "expected" their Customers to immediately put those into museum standards display(Laughs!!).

This is more of statement of how much I love to look at my panties drying on the drying rack. Sometimes I will leave them on the rack for a couple of days.

I wash mine by hand daily when I shower and hang them to dry.

I wash and dry mine with the regular laundry with wash machine dial set on 'hand wash' and dryer set on medium heat.  OK, I realize that my panties won't last as long while being laundering this way, however because of the number of panties in my stash, any given pair only gets worn/laundered about once a year.  Because of the infrequency of a given pair being worn/laundered, I actually have some pair in my stash that are over 10 years old and still in good condition.  Yes my (femulated) name is Linda and I'm a panty hoarder.  There, for better or worse, I've said it.  Feels good to get that out.
