I was just shy of spending three yyears in Texas in The Air Force. Started out for five weeks in San Antonio in basic training. I then went to Amarillo for fifteen weeks for tech school and the rest of the three years stationed in Austin Texas at Bergstrom AFB, which is now Bergstrom-Austin International Airport. My final year in the Air Force was spent in Vietnam. I refueled airplanes. While in Austin, I had the privelege of servicing Air Force One and all the other aircraft used by President Johnson. Actually, the planes number was 26000, the same plane used by President Kennedy, which was used to transfer his body from Dallas to DC. The aircraft used by any president is only called Airforce One, Marine One, etc. only when the President is on board, at all other times they are refered to by their number. Just a little side thought about my life.
