These new factions, "Occupy Wall Street" and their offshoots, are very troubling to me.
OWS reminds me of two times in history.
1. The calling for needles and condoms greatly reminds me of Woodstock. The hippie and drug infested gathering in upstate New York.
2. Secondly and very disturbing, the Marxist Socialist revolution against the czar. This was the onset of Communism, also known by the other name, socialism. Pitting the classes against one another and that everyone is eintitled to a share of all that is to be had. There should be no one better off than the next person. Of course the exception is the government who controlls evry aspect of your life.
Do you want to stand in long lines for a loaf of bread? This is what happened to the peple of Russia under socialism.
Would you rather be working for the government, instead of private enterprise? This too is what happens under socialism.
This great country of ours was founded on the premise of individual achievement. Everyone has an equal chance to succeed.
I'm not against welfare for those who really need it, but I am against lazy people collecting welfare because they can make more money on welfare then they can doing actual legitimate work.
We are rapidly sliding downhill int socialism that we may never be able to get ourselves out of.
Don't take these gatherings too lightly. Ask any Jew who was under Hitler's rule. Ask the many people under Communist rule. Remember a divided Germany, the Brandenburg Gat and the Berlin Wall.
When people take the stance that it can't happen here, it already has.
Most of all, OWS reminds me of Weimar "Republic" Germany, from the closing weeks of World War One, right on up to when the Nazis finally consolidated their power, in the wake of President Paul von Hindenberg's death.
Sooner or later, some fringe militia, not unlike what comes from Idaho, is going to start mixing it up with these pieces of human s-hit, or maybe some Muzzie group that claims to represent "Law and Order", and they'll claim to have the all the answers that the maleable and uninformed vast masses so desperately crave, due to their fading vision of mediocrity, and with a chilling mendacity that they won't recognize, until it's way too late. They'll want a "strongman" to set things to rights. Too many folks accept ignorance as being the easy way out. The pre-medieval Dark Ages, gots nuttin' on today.
Any kind of a revolution would open us up to Marxist Socialism or worse. It could br a gateway to the Muslims and Sharia law. I often wonder if these demonstrations were started by some left wing government group or just some idiots causing trouble. Either way, a revolution would bring down the US Constitution, not the ship, and have the exact opposite affect that these soak the rich perpurtrators want.

Where's Barry Goldwater, when you need him?
To paraphrase part of a familiar theme song, "...We could use a man like Ronald Reagan again."
Y'know, a great number, if not a majority of these OWS punks, and punkettes, are trust fund kids, those who are filthy rich, to whom the notion of the most basic of hard work, means as much to them, as much of the idea of life on the Moon, would matter to an ant in its anthill. At least for now, some of grand-daddie's, and great-grandaddie's capital, isn't going up their noses, at such an alarming and furious rate.
And so much of this OWS business is George Soros' brainfart.
"And let me remind you, extremism in the pursuit of liberty is no vice; and, moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." --Barry Goldwater--

Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 I'll be going to a demonstration. It will be to honor Veterans no longer with us and also those of us who are still breathing the air that we served our country for. I'm a member of the most hated of all Veterans, a Vietnam Veteran. We had to fight for everything we have gotten. Recognition was slow and many years coming. God Bless America.
