Great news story, JanetCD. I witnessed some glass stair cases in a couple of the Smithsonian Museums while in DC. At that time I had not seen your post but the first thing I thought of when I saw the stairs in the museum was women in skirts on the stairs. Unfortunatlely the stairs in the Smithsonian were so worn that just seeing a clear image through them was impossible. My loss since there was a number of women in short skirts always around.

If those individual steps are one-piece modular, replace 'em, daggummitt!! And enforce a slipper (museum-issue)/socks/hose/barefoot rule, so the glass doesn't scratch up.
