Right now, I'm wearing some Shadowline custom-crafted--by me--black Nylon Microfibre Lycra Spandex Full Briefs, Shadowline Style #17017's, I believe, derived from before the fairly recent changeover in ownership of Shadowline. This fabric may need a bit more seasoning to break down its factory-sized crispness, but it's well worth that effort.

By custom-crafted, I take the back panels of two identical pairs, and splice 'em into one. They then look a little like high-waisted boy-shorts, yet the sensation of my bilaterally symmetrical creations, yields more effect to the upper front thighs, tummie, and, a slightly loosened bum, and, through the groin, all critical zones, in paying sensory tribute to Winkie. And you can wear my creations forwards and backwards--makes not a whit o' difference--still feels Elysian upon one's bod, with all of that springy Lycra-driven soooffftness!! Positively killer!!!!

For me, it is a pair of my "patent pending" Custom-Crafted "panties", that are Bilaterally Symmetrical, made from Two(2) pairs (Back Panels only) of some extremely soooft 100% Pure Cotton high-waisted TW's (Tightee-Whiteys). Those two back panels have a very low, shallow leg angle, so, that when assembled, sewn together, they fit like BoyShorts, or Pettiepanties with abbreviated legs. This design gives Winkie more playroom, so, that as I move about, the entire garment whipsaws or brushes about my entire pelvic region, especially and most importantly, around and about Winkie!

They feel just as soft as Nylon and Acetate Tricots, only much fuzzier. Some of the better ones are quite sheer (see-through), and have a slight sheen (shininess), like the grander Tricots. The grade of Cottons and Cotton/Polyester Blendeds, knitted in 1X1 Rib-Knit, varies from one given brandage and vintage to another, so that the best need almost no seasoning (laundry-to-wear cycles)/break-in, and are play-ready. Others may require some seasoning, and then they are play-ready. But the worst, such as Fruit of The Loom, of any description, are very stiff and scratchy, and stay that way through the garment's life.

Speaking of FOTL, their Nylon Tricot used in Gals' panties is just about as bad, though at first glance, they may have a fair sheen and sheerness to them. Quite stiff and scratchy--coarse grade of Tricot--something equivalent to most Polyester Tricots, at least that's the way my bod 'n' Wink read 'em.

I clearly believe that these would be soft enough for an SO to raid my pantie drawer--and more!!

I truly admire your precision creations, Pee-Jay, and would like to know how you make them. They look exactly what a Fine Lingerie House would execute, and execute perfectly, under the demands of the terms of volume. So, it must obviously follow that you know how to operate a sewing machine quite skillfully. At this point of my life, I can only skillfully handsew, and as well as my stuff turns out to please me in my playtimes, it's a very tedious way to go.

How did you learn how to operate a machine? Did you learn how to do all of the stitching types that your machine is capable of making; or, with that machine, do you only concentrate on the stitching styles that are germaine to lingerie manufacture? I currently use existing panties, for example, and trim them down to fit my particular anatomy--with no set patterns or templates--and using a particularly moist flowing ballpoint pen, that's how I scribe out my cutting lines, virtually all freehand, though I've mastered a certain skill, by scribing nearly precisely through the differing furrow lines of Tricot. That's of paramount importance, because it keeps the fabric aligned properly, for maximum play behavior, with no irregularities in how my pretties are constructed.

Where did you learn how to use a machine, or did you teach yourself, perhaps using a textbook or more, to help teach yourself?

When you set out to create one of your pretties, might you start by first making paper patterns and templates? Is there a certain trick with fastening elastics to fabric, so that you get the exact stretch behavior that you want? Once you have scoped out a project, how long for, say, a pantie style that you particularly love and want to duplicate again and again, does it take you from start to finish?

How fancy is your sewing machine, with lots of accessories; or, is it just a good basic solid no-frills workhorse of a machine, that just does the stitching styles required for durable lingerie? At one time, brand-new, or a second-hand machine?

How might you store and work with your raw fabric yardage, raw laces, and raw elastics?

Do you launder fabrics first, to get rid of some factory sizings and treatments (Some fabrics might then shrink or expand, or come out of the best of launderings, still with a mess of unruly unworkable wrinkles.)?

What other questions about machine sewing, ought I to be asking?

Breezie, I am mostly self taught I did take a couple of home ec classes in high school many years ago, I began sewing my own when I figured out for the same price as one pair of VS panties I could buy a yard of fabric and a spool of thread and make 8 to 10 pairs and still be ahead, my machine is a brother electronic I must confess I dont use all the stitches I dont know who would there over 30, But to your other ? I do make paper templates for sizing and style changes, once I find a style that works it takes about 10 min from cut table to wearable, sometimes a little longer depending on what embelishments I put on but no longer than 20 min, and Thank you for the compliment I do try hard to make things look profesionally done I use alot of fold over elastic for waist and leg openings also some picot edge for waist line, the secret to elastic is to give a little stretch as you sew it on, I also use a hidden elastic if i want a clean look, in that case I just sew a hem then feed a strip of white 1/4 or 1/8 " elstic through the hem secure the ends and trimm the excess off, at that point you have a blank canvas to embelish or just leave plain with a small bow in front or centerd in the rear, I always wash the fabric first to get all the junk out and iron if needed most of the time the spandex content is hihg enogh that ironing is not needed, I you start to make your own be prepaird to mess up more than you can actully wear, my first pair was a copy of one of favorite VS panties and did not fit like the original but try,try again out off the first yard I got one pair that fit and looked right, you can find everything you neeed online as good prices if you do some research.

Pee-Jay; I just want to thank you so, so much, for answering all of my questions; I suspect that it took some doing, to do so. Intuition also tells me, that it's probably much easier to feed a convex edge to be seamed through the sewing machine, than it is a concave one, if the seam edges are not straight.

I think that my researches into machine sewing shall begin at my public library. I'm a bit leery at joining a sewing group or club, as there could be nosy busibodies that won't mind their own business. I should think that Wikipedia ought to have articles about sewing machines and machine sewing.

When I'm ready and able to take the plunge, perhaps eBay ought to have quite an assortment of basic machines for me to look over, online.

Lace Nouveaus, Style #'s 13001(Regular Sizes 4-8)/13801 (Plus Sizes 9-12) are a variant of the "Plain Jane" Perfectly Yours Classics, Style #'s 15011 (Regular Sizes)/15811 (Plus Sizes). Comparing them to Lace Nouveaus, in the Plus Sizings, they featured at least an additional Inch in the Hipseam/Waist Rise measure, with a more gradual angle on the Rear Leg Cut, yielding far more bum coverage, and coverage of the uppermost rear thighs. Also, if you're the slightest bit annoyed by the sensation of scratchy lace, as am I, by contrast, with the PY Classics, you'd feel nothing but dangerously soft Tricot!!

The Bali Freeforms are outrageously soft and sheer, too, though my bod reads 'em as being a mite bit crisper, in the softness department. The waist rise on these goes very high, almost beyond your ribcage, depending upon how you're built. That's a plus!!

But the Shadowline Satinrique Full Brief, Style #17042, those sure do fill up Breezie's sails--and more!! These feel fuzzie/downie soft, with their supple and bouncy drapey clinginess, and more than enough sheerness to give them a visually fun quality, both for you, and your pantie playmate(s). They're oversized, if you compare them to the relatively snug VF's, so that a Shadowline Size 11 would compare to a VF Size 13, if VF made "custom" Sizings.

Today, it's some of my high-waisted, custom-crafted Kayser Luxites, with a tunneled elastic waistband. They are/were a "poor gal's" Van Raaltes, to which they are/were very similar, with very finely-deniered extreme softness and extreme sheerness!! Winkie does have a very hard time, lazing about, when I wear these!

You know, hard to believe, once in a blue moon, I find reviews that are actually against items made out of sensuously soft and sheer Nylon Tricot! I actually haven't seen reviews of this nature in maybe 5 years, but I just happened to be thinking of them. They, in effect, these self-appointed "church lady"(?) types, imply that they make a woman look and act like a whore, with that sheerness! And they moralize, saying that this is the reason society's standards are going South, when a woman is actually disturbed, by things that are this soft!! That it actually transforms "nice" girls into promiscuous Jezebels, and encourages perverts!! What do they want everyone to wear as underwear--gunnysacks that rubs everyone so raw that they bleed?! Corky, with your troubles trying Pix Uploads, had you tried any options in fine tuning and maintaining your computer? I did, but nothing works for me, either. I soon plan an entire Reformat and Comprehensive Reinstall of my HDD, because other regions of my computer are acting buggy. They're so soft, and slightly sheer, that I think a chick might want to raid her man's undies drawer, to have her own fun with them.

For those of you who still yet may be interested in exceptionally soft Cotton, and Cotton/Polyester Blends, done in 1 X 1 Rib-Knit, I will discuss and rate those in a future Topic Thread. Let me know; I'm also tripped-out by seeing the stuff being worn--the fuzzie furriness around the wearer's contours and curves. It's also just another variety of softness that Winkie and the rest of my body enjoys, to add to the choice of Primo Tricots.

If the Cotton fabric is done in a Jersey Knit--like a standard T-Shirt, forget about it--it's still probably going to feel like a T-Shirt! That also includes most chicks' panties done in Cotton. Yet Jersey-Knit in Cot/Poly blends can undergo some interesting changes, if it goes through extreme seasonings, and-or a chemical burn-out process. It can then get as sheer as Nylon Tricot Chiffon, and feel softer than a lot of standard Tricots, believe it or not!! But then, it tends to be quite fragile.

And, if they're sheer (see-through), they do visually interesting things with your skin tone. Ideally, I like it if the Finish is glossy, but certain matte finishes, in finely deniered Tricots, will compliment the sheerness, to highlight your contours and curves.

Very old and well-seasoned Acetate Tricot, along with nearly trashed Nylon Tricot, also, starts to sprout these cute fuzzie filiaments that start to stand away from the rest of the fabric, that look and feel sensuous, too. Interesting visual effects of those filiaments, as the eye cruises about the body curves, fabric ripples, and body contuors.

Take a look at my current Avatar. Study how the pantie tint, accordingly tints her skin, I shall resist the temptation to change it over, for the next 2 or so weeks, since these panties are so perfect. What she is wearing, looks to be as perfect a Tricot fabric, there can be, the lightest weight, finest deniered Standard Tricot as can be, without being that scratchy and lifeless Chiffon Tricot. I sorely wish that they still made this stuff. I'm sure that most of the rest of you may agree, too. The only stuff that currently cums close, is any Shadowline product, or what you find in Vanity Fair's Style #'s 13001/13801 Lace Nouveaus.

With the black, you can pretend that you're the late Bettie Page, Ava Gardner, or Bernie Dexter.

Now, Pee-Jay; would those be Christmas "Ugly Christmas Panties", done up in Santas, reindeer, conifers, snowflakes, snowmen, and reindeer, in lace, appliques, embroidery, sequins, and-or, rheinstones(Laughs!!!)???? You know, there's only one time of the year that these can be worn, only in this season, and that's right now. Oh, well. And they have to be only in red 'n' green--unless you're Jewish--then they're blue 'n' white for Chanukkah, with li'l lace dreidels all over 'em!!
