I believe that these are Dixie Belle Nylon "Scalloped-Fronts". They have a stiff plastic, or plasticized Nylon fibre, that forms the waved embellishment/decoration along the front leg.

Howdy, "Arr-Ray"; would those be Opacitriques, that are no longer made? Those had a very matte (flat without sheen) finish, while being most agreeably sheer. And their softness--they had a delicious "dry" furrie softness much like the finer Acetate Tricots. And, a bubbly clingy drape!

I sure hope that Mr. Alan Rifkin & Co. at Velrose/Shadowline sees fit to revive these.

My, oh my, "Em-gress"(!); these do indeed, look excitable, for any healthy excitable boy! It need not be just fine Tricots alone that does that crucial job of exciting you, or me, for that matter. These fabrics have received a bad reputation from substandard fabrications exemplified by the scratchy stuff made by Fruit of the Loom. But there is furry, fuzzy, clingy, drapey high quality stuff, best exemplified by Hanro of Switzerland, for both Gals & Guys; Current Sears Covington Guys', in both 100% Pure Cotton and Cot/Poly Blend; and, choice Antique/Vintage Guys' mostly sold by Montgomery Wards and Sears from the late '50's to early '80's, done mostly in Cot/Poly Blends. Those can rival, and in some cases exceed, many Tricots, in softness, sheerness and the overall sensuousness upon the body.

More and more, I do see the phenomenon of undies enjoyment, becuming a unisexual, an omnisexual pleasure.

For Handsewing, I find Tricot generally easy to manage. It does tend to curl over/under, as you pre-stress it, for receiving stitches. That's where I'll plant my needle, though; and I find that as I wear my garment, the stress is evenly distributed, as I like and need.

I do see what you mean, though, Pee-Jay. You're trying to keep the edges of the fabric pieces exactly lined up, as you're guiding them through the machine, to form a seam, and the fabric edges want to curl up on you. One, it gets even dicier, as you're attempting to sew a curved seam. Two, when you're attempting to sew Three or more pieces together. And, Three, when you're attempting to bind fabric to elastic, and you have to increase the clearance of the Machine's Guides.

Some cheap factory produced panties do have some very s-hittily produced seams, I believe, with inferior industrial-style sewing machines, poorly maintained; fabric cut with poor industrial style cutters, also poorly maintained; patterns that pay no heed to a fabric's actual behavior; fabric with too much sizing treatments or too little; the fabric quality's substandard; and-or, sewn with too little skill, and-or, too much haste. Then, you go to put these on, and BAM(!!), they disintegrate into a mess of scuffs, runs, pills, and ladders!! You can't always get your money back on these, as your body has already contaminated them with its essence. Oh, well.
