I once was against medical marijuana, still am about legalizing all other marijuana. I am now in favor of medical marijuana since a friend of mine who broke his back in a couple of places tried marijuana and after two puffs, his pain was relieved where prescribed medications have failed. As for myself, I am in pain 24/7 and I am goinig to ask for stronger medications. It is time to allow those of us who are seeking relief fot our pain, to decide if we want to take the risks involved to ease our pain. Unless you are in constant pain, you really have no right to decide on how we find relief of our pains.

I am a former recreational user, who probably experienced all there is to experience, not just with marijuana, but also, with hashish, and, with hashish oil. With the last item, the smoking of the resins buildups in my pipes, from cleaning, could qualify as hash oil, as well.
Puss, I accept everything you stated, at face value, and in a lot of people's cases, there is some analgesic benefit--even if THC does work like a placebo.
But, from my current level of understanding, the essence of the Opium Poppy, has a clinically proven track record, actually reacting with the body's pain sensors, not merely to deaden all pain, but leaving just a little there, in the patient's consciousness, to let patient and doc know about the actual healing progress, of the injury and-or condition that caused it, in the first place, and a good doc will not allow you to become addicted. Then adjustments can be made, in the overall healing regimen.
For hospice/terminal care, addiction's not a factor to be worried about. Clinically formulated Morphine, Laudanum, Methadone, Codiene, and even Heroin, can help not only with the pain of the dying, but easing anxiety, panic, and depression as well. The right amount of morphine/codiene "buzz", may actually help one pass over better, at the moments leading up to, and including, the death, itself.
We must all ask ourselves, about how honest the "Blanket Legalization Crowd", really is. Could their brains be so "addled", that they believe that recreational use, very much the same, as clinically supervised medical use? How much can they have allowed themselves to actually and naturally mature? Could they be deliberately trying to blindside us, by having one or the other of the purposes, or both, completely legalized, and damn the consequences? How much of all of this, is part of the sub-rosa Socialist/Progressive playbook, to irrevocably damage and change our culture, society, and civilisation? More than you think, buckos!
Then there's this third purpose, from those who use TCH-based intoxicants as a "religious sacrament"(?), such as the Rastafarians. One tries to enforce current Narcotics Laws upon them, and they cry racism, and at a level of persecution as endured by the Jewish People under Nazism.
This may come as a great revelation, epiphany, or sartori, to some of you, but, Cannabis/THC products, used recreationally and indiscriminately, indeed does trigger psychosis, in more individuals, than is ever likely to be aknowledged, by the Politically Correct, Politically Cowardly crowd. Believe it or not, there are adverse psychomotor effects that do take place, when operating motor vehicles, and similar situations. True, that original great Narc, Harry Anslinger, may have oversensationalized the dangers of Cannabis, throwing in some of his personal racism, but, he was on the right track, fostering a professional view, and a view towards action, in the LEA, Prosecutorial, Legislative, and, Judicial communities.
