COTTON & COT/POLY BLEND: The best--hands down & winkie up--is Long-Staple Fine 1 X 1 Rib-Knit, in 100% Pure Cotton, or, Cot/Poly Blended, with maybe a little more Polyester to the Ratio. The finest grades of Cotton for undies, comes from Egypt, Peru, Pima/AZ, and from certain cultivars of California's San Joaquin Valley.
The next two in the discussion originate in the United Kingdom/Great Britain/England. Interlock Knit is "intermediate" in execution, between Rib-Knit and Jersey Knit, and it can be most sinfully fluffie. Aside from being impractical for England's colder climate, I can't figure the scarcity of Nylon Tricot, there. Undies lovers anywhere oughtta flip over Nylon Tricot; oh, well. Yet, their 100% Pure Cotton Jersey Knit in undergarments, kicks ass over anything manufactured for the United States. In the USA, Jersey is no better than a man's scratchy T-Shirt.
The best Euro-Brandage comes from Naturana of England, Hanro of Switzerland, Zimmerli of Switzerland, Calida, and, Mey of Germany. These all have strong omnisexual and-or unisexual appeal. Specifically with Hanro, with most of their Collections, the Fabrics used, are surprisingly identical, between the genders; I kid you not!
BAMBOO: Surprisingly, Breezie's yet to indulge his winkie (and more), with Bamboo. Yet, intuition tells me that Bamboo in Meryl-, Modal-, Tactel-, Tencel-, and-or, Microfibre-Type Fabrications, would be your best bets.
Since Bamboo comes from Cellulose, and Rayon and Acetate comes from Hardwoods Cellulose, I'd be curious to learn if Coniferous (Pine, Spruce, Fir, Sequoia, etc.) Cellulose could be rendered into dngerously soft yarns>>fabrics? And, in that case, it would be cool as well, if all your panties permanently retained the Piney scent of, say, the Sierra Nevada Mountains!!

I say old bean, don't forget when we speak of our undies in the home land, we call them knickers. We here in the colonies cannot forget the mother lands weird names for things.
Have you tried pure silk, after a few washings they get very soft and comfy, and still breath nice for those HOT Summer Nights!
Yes, PJ; I've tried Wintersilks knit products, a few years ago, but, alas, I found the fabric to be highly unstable, quite prone to runs, ladders, seam seperation, and pills. Great, if you're going to be doing gentle lounging, but not so great, if you want vigorous play out of them. And the fabric otherwise is dangerously soft. Winkie presses very hard, on this silken sheath, and all of a sudden it goes "SQUEEE(!!)", and all of a sudden, he's poking through a hole of parted ladders--not so cool. In nearly all cases, Nylon Tricot won't do that. Maybe the more heavyweight fabric in their ski, backpacking, and mountaineering undies is more stable.
Perhaps you know of some knit silkwear brandage that has stronger, more stable, yet still lethally soft fabrication?
