It is with great sadness that I mourn the passing of Dixie Bell lingerie.  On their website it says "store currently closed" rather than 'store temporarily closed'.  I hope I'm wrong, but that does not bode well. 

My only association with them was when I bought a couple pair of their panties at a local thrift store, although they were in 'new' condition.  I loved them, they brought back memories of sneaking my older sisters panties around my age of puberty.  They were a 'legged' panty (one inch inseam) as opposed to elastic leg brief. 

I love the way the material sashays back and forth across my "boys", teasing them as I walk or dance.  To get the full benefit of that motion, I need to wear a full skirt rather than jeans or dress pants.  A skirt with generous folds works best for concealing the hard-on that surely results.

They are definitely true vintage nylon, the material is similar to Sears "Blue Package" panties.  I loved my Dixie Belles so much that I wanted to go online and order several pair for myself.  I guess I 'trolled' on their site a bit too long, figuring I had plenty of time since they were an older established company (since 1946) with a huge following.   Once I decided to buy, the online store was closed.  I needed to order online, since brick-and-mortar stores that carried them were all 'down south' and I'm living 'up north' in the frozen tundra.

So what killed them?  was it COVID?  Was it foreign competition?  (They were advertised an American made with all American fabric.)  Was it the internet and the decline of brick-and-mortar?  Does it matter?  To try and answer those questions would be like having an autopsy done on a deceased loved one. What difference would it make?  It can't bring them back.

Just a little update here.  On E-bay I found the style of Dixie Belle panties that I talked about, in my size no less, in new condition with the tags still attached, but only 2 left.  I bought them immediately, but at 2 or 2-1/2 times the price that Dixie Belle charged when that site was active.  Unrelenting demand coupled with diminishing supply equals drastic price increase, just the simple law of supply and demand.  There are also other styles of Dixie Belle on E-bay, again with 'inflated' prices, in case any of you are devotees of that lingerie line.

I'll have to do a little digging to see if I can come up with a way of contacting the folks at Dixie Belle.  If I can, I'll need to tell them what E-bay is doing (with prices) and also tell them that they're making a serious mistake by shutting down, since the demand for their product is still there.

yeah, looks like another causality of pandemic. or just a younger generation not buying classic lingerie. so sad. I have many of their panties and they are of such good quality and sexy if you like briefs like me.
